Apricity

Extra Pale Ale - ABV 3.4%

Apricity: the warmth of the sun on a winter’s day.

Susie dent, author and queen of Countdown’s Dictionary Corner, has said, “I’ll bring this word back if it kills me!”. We want to do our part in this quest.

The sound of ‘Apricity’ is almost as exquisite as the feeling it describes.

Apricity extra pale ale tastes almost as exquisite as the warmth of the sun on a winter’s day.

My Story

Apricity: the warmth of the sun on a winter’s day.

Susie dent, author and queen of Countdown’s Dictionary Corner, has said, “I’ll bring this word back if it kills me!”.

We want to do our part in this quest.

Susie wrote in her book ‘an emotional dictionary’: The physiological effects of sunshine are well proven. We are sadder when deprived of it, and swimming with serotonin when basking in it. That basking, centuries ago, was known as ‘apricating’, and it is a word with a beautiful relative. There is just a single record of ‘Apricity’ in the Oxford English Dictionary, from 1623 where it is presented simply as ‘the warmeness of the sunne in winter’.

The sound of ‘Apricity’ is almost as exquisite as the feeling it describes.
