General Wolfe “1759” Maple Ale
October – November
Our Autumn seasonal ale is the colour of turning maple leaves from the Crystal Malt in the grist. In addition we add Maple Syrup to the copper. The brew is hopped with Bramling Cross hops which are a cross between an English Golding hop and a Manitoban (Canadian) wild hop. Brewed to commemorate General Wolfe who was born in Westerham and defeated the French at the Heights of Abraham in Quebec, 13 September 1759.
“A firmly bitter but decidedly fruity, robust ale with toffee-malt notes, juicy blackcurrants and orchard fruits, plus a perfumed, floral background sweetness from the maple syrup.” – Jeff Evans – Beer Writer
