WESTERHAM BREWERY CELEBRATES 15 YEARS OF BREWING
May 26th 2019 marked exactly 15 years since the first brew by Westerham Brewery, who began brewing in a converted barn at Grange Farm, just outside the town of Westerham, Kent. The Brewery is now located in a purpose-built facility on Beggars Lane, Westerham, with a Tap Room & Shop on site. To commemorate the occasion, the Brewery played host to an all-day Beer Festival and an evening of live music entitled The Great Gig in the Marquee. Westerham Brewery also created a special 15 hop session IPA using 15 different Kent-grown hops.
The Beer Festival over the second Bank Holiday Weekend celebrated Westerham Brewery’s 15th Anniversary by showcasing beers from Westerham and friends, as well as live music throughout the day and street food from Pizza Federicci, Jacob’s Ladder Butchery and The Moules & Bread Shed.
The Beer Festival was free to attend, and local residents were given a flyer which could be exchanged for a free Westerham beer at the Festival. Sunday night saw Kent’s own Pink Floyd Tribute band On Thin Ice perform The Great Gig in the Marquee. Guests were treated to a two-course gourmet dinner, as well as a choice of wines and Westerham beers.
Robert Wicks, Founder and Head Brewer at Westerham Brewery, said: “We are proud to have made it to our 15th Anniversary still making great beer, even if we have a little less hair today than in 2004! Over the last 15 years the beer business has changed enormously, and we enter our next 15 years with a young team driving the business forward. Innovation of new beers and styles is at the forefront of our future.”
Here’s to the next 15 years of brewing in the hop garden of England!
