Five beers brewed by Westerham Brewery have won medals at the International Beer Challenge.

On the second day of the 2015 hop picking season, Friday 28th August, celebrated beer and travel writer Pete Brown and Robert Wicks visited the Scotney Castle Hop Garden to pull, pick and dry hops.  Here is a photo galley of our visit.

Bohemian Rhapsody, a craft Pilsner first launched in August 2014, has scored a double Gold at the SIBA Regional Beer Competition on Friday 10th July 2015.  The bottled version of the 5% Pilsner won Gold in the Premium Lagers & Pilsners and the keg version won Gold in the same category of the SIBA South of England keg beer competition.

We have submitted modified plans for the brewery and winery building at Charmans Farm, Westerham.  Due to some design changes to the windows and the oak cladding we were requested to re-submit the plans to reflect these changes.

Two award winning local companies have made history by producing the first Kent Malt Whisky.

The first in our 2015 range of single hop beers is available from 1 February.

The shortlist for the very first FreeFrom Eating Out Awards, is now out. Says awards director, Michelle Berriedale-Johnson: ‘We are really delighted with the range of eateries and companies who have entered the awards – and excited by the enthusiasm and expertise in ‘freefrom’ shown by many of them. Complying with the new allergen regulations will be a tough ask for many establishments but the shortlist shows just how  many of them are already going about it with a will.’

The National Trust Fine Farm Produce Awards compare products produced with National Trust Farm ingredients or produced on National Trust Farms with products available in large supermarkets.  Westerham’s beers fulfil both of these criteria being made with hops with from Scotney Castle in Lamberhurst, Kent and brewed at Grange Farm in Crockham Hill.

Viceroy India Pale Ale has once again won a medal at the Society of Independent Brewers South East Regional beer competition.  The flagship IPA won the silver medal in the bottled gold beers category.  Twenty beers from brewers throughout the South East were entered into the gold beers blind tasting on Friday 11th July at the Tonbridge Juddians Rugby Club / SIBA Beer Festival.
