WORK ALMOST COMPLETE ON NEW WESTERHAM BREWERY

Work on the new brewery building started in April 2016.  With the clement weather and hard work of our general contractors, Mitchell Design & Construct, the building is nearly ready to be handed over for our final fitout.

Work on the new brewery tasting room and shop has begun and we have CGI visuals of what it will look like.  John Barnett Interior Design, who designed Kelly Holmes’ 1890 Cafe in Hildenborough, have designed an amazing space for our customers to taste and purchase our beers. We will also stock a range of superb wines from small producers and artisan spirits.  Squerryes Sparkling Wine will also feature in the shop.

We plan to have the shop open for December 2016.

The first tanks to arrive from the manufacturers were installed Thursday 20th October and more will arrive in early December.  The new cold store for finished beer is under construction now for completion by 4th November.

Hot & Cold Liquor Tanks

We dug a 90m borehole into the Greensand aquifer from which the famous but now defunct Black Eagle and Swan Breweries drew their water for over 400 years.  The aquifer will supply the brewery with all its liquor needs to brew our pale ales for which Westerham has been so famous.

Transfer of the remaining brewery tanks will take place in January and we look forward to welcoming visitors in the early Spring of 2017.

Brewing will return to Westerham after a hiatus of over 51 years.
